About Me

Becoming a teacher was a goal of mine that I've always had, even as an elementary student myself. I remember having my own "classroom" in the basement of my childhood home. I would teach lessons to my only student, my younger sister. When it came time to choose a major before going off to college, the only thing that came to mind was teaching. Although at the time I did not know if a career in education would be for me, just under ten years later, I know I am exactly where I should be.

I am currently a fourth grade teacher in Warren Woods Public Schools, located in Warren, Michigan. I have been lucky enough to teach the same grade for the last four years. As an educator, I always strive to inspire my students to be the best versions of themselves. This includes learning how to be problem solvers, in both academic settings and with friends. While teaching content is extremely important, shaping my students into future citizens, I believe, is also equally important. As a result, my students work collaboratively daily with one another in order to learn new content, while simultaneously building relationships with peers.

Students worked collaboratively to create a group name and group rules, while also getting to know their peers better by creating a digital introduction of themselves.

Students used their creativity to create and design a skit to help them remember important math vocabulary. This song features the words minimum, maximum, range and mode.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy living a healthy, fun and relaxing lifestyle. As a graduate of Michigan State University, I enjoy traveling back to campus for game days and trips to the Dairy Store. I love to stay active and spend many days of the week taking a barre class. I also enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to new and old places with my husband.

My husband, sister and I all graduated from Michigan State University. Being a spartan runs in the family!

One of my favorite vacation spots is Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. I love visiting Boston and NYC as well.

This little kitten, CeCe, runs around our home causing trouble, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Completing 250 barre classes was a big goal of mine and I accomplished it at Pure Barre Rochester, MI.

Fall Saturdays in East Lansing are something I look forward to each and every year. Go Green!

To say I have a sweet tooth would be an understatement. I love dessert, especially ice cream.
